The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) at Texas Children’s Hospital in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Pediatric Interventional Endoscopist to join the Baylor College of Medicine team. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and advance the field of pediatric interventional endoscopy as the only specialist in the city of Austin. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in performing complex interventional endoscopic procedures and a passion for improving pediatric gastrointestinal health outcomes.
Our new state of the art full-service hospital in Austin opened in February 2024. The hospital increases access to quality healthcare for children and women across central Texas. This position is a rare opportunity to participate in the start, growth and expansion of a BRAND-NEW medical facility and campus aimed to serve the growing population of Austin Texas. Position Highlights:
Join our nationally recognized team of pediatric specialists at our new Austin, Texas location:
- Primarily clinically oriented position.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ready to step in, build and develop innovative programming.
- Perform a wide range of advanced interventional endoscopic procedures in pediatric patients, utilizing cutting-edge techniques and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
- Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR)
- Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)
- Balloon-assisted enteroscopy
- Endoscopic hemostasis
- Foreign body removal
- Endoscopic dilation
- Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement
- Endoscopic cyst gastrostomy
- Endoscopic variceal band ligation
- Other complex interventional endoscopic procedures as needed
- Collaborate closely with pediatric gastroenterologists, pediatric surgeons, interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for pediatric patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders.
- This provider will be comfortable practicing autonomously; with the collaboration and support of 3 other full-time physicians within the division in Austin and the comprehensive expertise of TCH campuses in Katy, the Texas Medical Center and The Woodlands.
Qualifications:
- Candidates with 3 plus years of experience in Clinical Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
- The ideal candidate will have a pioneer-like spirit that is flexible and comfortable with the challenges of starting and ramping up a new program and facility.
- Completion of advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Interventional Endoscopy or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing complex interventional endoscopic procedures in pediatric patients.
- The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Texas medical
